Computer Laboratory GameLab has been implemented within the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 International Project «GameHub: University-Enterprises Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine» to train skills of digital games creation for students, unemployed engineers and participants of Antiterrorist operation.
GameHub at the University
Game industry has been one of the most promising and growing in recent decades. According to the results of the analysis of game industry market in Ukraine, the average monthly salary of programmer and developer of game applications has more than tripled in the last few years. The obtained results show a significant potential of the game industry in Ukraine and especially in Kyiv.
Key goals and objectives of GameHub at the University are:
- establishment of effective training programmes and training of different target groups according to the modules developed at the Game Laboratory;
- studying European experience due to introduction of knowledge necessary for working in the game industry in the curricula and programs.
KNUCA GameHub’s priorities are:
- training of such target groups: students (bachelor’s and master’s degree), veterans of Antiterrorist operation, unemployed engineers to enhance their competencies and skills for employment in the market of game industry;
- cooperation with leading IT companies, city and regional job centres and other organizations to ensure employment and professional realization of participants of target groups;
- research in game sphere, game applications development for various applied tasks, consulting activity;
- organization of seminars, information days, round tables and job fairs to inform the public and attract interested people to participate in the GameHub project (international and Ukrainian IT companies, job centres, etc.);
- creation of a team based on the KNUCA Information Technology Department and the KNUCA Information and Computing Centre to implement the project and ensure its sustainable development in the future, taking into account the relationship with business, scientific community, other organizations and scientific institutions.
